KORU PRIVACY NOTICE

The public journeys do not ask for your story

KORU is designed to help people notice what may travel with ordinary life. This notice explains the difference between reading the fictional journeys and contributing to the public evidence record.

Reading the fictional journeys

The Coffee, Holiday, Job, and Care journeys are imagined, source-led explanations. They do not ask you to enter your name, location, health information, travel plans, employment history, payment details, or other personal information. KORU does not inspect your activity to build a personal journey or score.

Some pages use ordinary examples to explain what a service may do. The details can vary by organisation, setting, and choice. The public sources linked in each chapter are context, not a claim about every provider.

A SEPARATE CONTRIBUTION ACTIVITY

Contributing to the public record

If you choose to contribute, KORU uses sign-in to protect the review queue, show you the status of your own submission, and keep contributor identity separate from the public record. The account may include an OAuth identifier, name, email address, sign-in method, and sign-in timestamps.

A submission may include the country, evidence layer, claim title, summary, source URL, publisher, and evidence date. Reviewers may add private or public notes. Do not submit personal or sensitive information about yourself or anyone else.

Submissions are private while they are reviewed. Only an accepted, source-checked public projection can appear in a country file. Contributor identity is not included in that public projection.

PURPOSE, ACCESS & RETENTION

What happens next

KORU uses contributor information for account access, editorial review, publication decisions, correction history, and service security. Access is limited by role: contributors can see their own submissions; designated administrators can access the review queue.

KORU will retain information only for as long as the approved editorial, security, and accountability purposes require. The project team must keep the retention schedule current and will delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

For questions about access, correction, deletion, objection, or a concern about a contribution, contact the KORU privacy team. We will explain what can be done and any limits that apply.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Requests made to other services

KORU may use hosting, authentication, and storage providers to operate the website. Optional analytics is currently disabled, so KORU does not load an optional analytics script. If that changes, the provider, purpose, lawful basis, retention, and transfer position will be made visible before it is enabled. KORU’s chosen fonts are served from its own storage rather than Google Fonts.

Source links leave KORU and open the publisher’s website. Their privacy terms and tracking practices are separate from KORU’s.

Current scope: KORU’s public journeys do not ask you to provide personal information. If you choose to contact KORU or use a contribution feature, KORU may process the information you provide for that purpose. The hosting platform may also process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the site.

Project stewardship: KORU is currently a founder-led project operated by Sadie Yousefi.

Last reviewed: 6 October 2026. This notice describes the current KORU public-beta implementation and should be updated when its live workflows or processing change.
